Magnitude 6.8 earthquake strikes Tonga
An earthquake measuring 6.8 magnitude struck Tonga on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles), USGS said.
The U.S. National Tsunami Center said it does not expect a tsunami after the earthquake
"No destructive tsunami threat exists based on available data. This is for information purposes only and there is no tsunami threat to the Philippines from this earthquake," PHIVOLCS posted.
